Multidimensional love!

In many countries around the world, Valentine's Day is known as a day to celebrate romantic love. But this year, it feels even more deeply intertwined with a broader, more powerful meaning of "compassion" and "human connection."

At the beginning of the year, the venerable Venerable Vic Panyakala led a moving peace march. He and 20 monks walked 2,300 miles (approximately 3,700 km) from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington D.C., arriving in February and demonstrating discipline, mindfulness, and a quiet example.

Through his love for peace, he showed us that true transformation begins within oneself. I have nothing but respect for the dedication and spiritual strength of these monks.

Their journey reminds us that Valentine's Day is not just for lovers. It's also about sharing love with family, siblings, and friends. It's a love expressed through service, respect, and unity.

At the same time, carnivals are celebrated in many parts of the world. From French Guiana and the Caribbean to Brazil and Europe, people express love through music, dance, and celebrations of rich cultural and historical traditions.

Love manifests itself as something multidimensional. It is spiritual, emotional, cultural, and communal. And it breathes at the very core of the DNA of human beings.

Dr. Samuel Bree states, "Love is the most powerful technology in the universe."

I hope that all readers will discover the various forms of love they can open their hearts to and receive, and that they will cherish and savor each moment while practicing mindfulness.

Whether it is peace, friendship, celebration, or a quiet act of compassion—

Love that connects us to one another and to our shared humanity.
