Peace Tourism Forum held

10/13/25

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the "Peace Tourism Forum 2025" was held in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person events (venue: Haneda Airport Terminal 2, Wadōba), co-hosted by Michishirube General Incorporated Association and EmPath General Incorporated Foundation.

This was a global event where university students from around the world gathered to learn and discuss the potential for peacebuilding and cultural exchange through tourism. Drawing on their own tourism experiences in their own countries and regions, the speakers engaged in discussions from a variety of perspectives, including sustainable tourism, mutual cultural understanding, and the revitalization of local communities. Special guests included tour guides from around the world, who delivered "messages of connection from the tourism field."

For this art program, we asked artist Takahashi Madotaro, director of the Coastline Art Museum, to come up with a plan on the theme of "Coastline Scale Mural."

We will ask participants to submit photos of the most inspiring place they have visited so far, and we will use these photos to select colors to paint on the actual seawall and create a mural. We are looking forward to the day when the colors chosen by the participants will be painted on the seawall in Ogatsu Town.
